Please join Tarheel Sports Car Club for a fun and competitive day of Grand Prix Karting on January 18th, 2026 at RushHour Karting in Garner! The renovated location now features an indoor, multilevel track and brand-new high-tech gas karts.  You'll be navigating the course across 3 sessions (21 minutes of seat time across practice, qualifying, race) alongside your peers, with the top 5 of each heat going to a Finale!

This is our first race of the season and of the Winter Series. There will be two Series, Winter and Summer, that take place at Garner and Morrisville, respectively. Each series will have 4 races at their locations. To qualify for the Series Champion/Runner-Up, you must be present for 3/4 events. For Season Champion/Runner-up, you must be present for 5/8 events.

MUST BE 15 YEARS OLD+

Registration fee: $77

This is a capped event, only 24 spots are available. Those on waitlist will be notified of open spots as they are made available.

(No license or helmet necessary, $2 charge for headsock which can be paid for onsite or bring your own helmet/headsock)

Doors open at 12 PM, Sunday, January 18th, please see the front desk for check-in on arrival.

After check-in and confirmation of the number of participants, we'll be split into run groups. Each run group will have:

  • 5-Minute Practice
  • 6-minute Qualifier
  • 10-Minute Race
  • There will also be a 10-minute Championship Finale for the top 5 across the race heats

Podium finishers for each heat will receive THSCC trophies, and podium finishers for the Finale will receive medals.

Event requirements

All drivers must sign a release form before racing at RushHour Karting. Adult drivers must be at least 15 years of age.

A parent or guardian must sign the release form for racers less than 18 years of age. Drivers MUST wear closed toe shoes; no sandals or flip flops!

THSCC and RushHour Karting believe in a zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol and controlled substances. Anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or any other controlled substance will not be permitted to drive.

Indoor karting is not a contact sport. THSCC and RushHour Karting do not tolerate any bumping or blocking. The inability to pass another kart is no excuse for contact. Anyone driving aggressively without regard for our rules or the safety of others will receive a warning for the first incident. A second violation will result in the removal of the driver from the facility and review of membership by THSCC staff.
